Hello,
Thank you for the idea. Would you please help to check following my comments?
The data created by the users using WBS and QuickPlan apps are stored on the devices of the users, for security consideration, we have no server to store the data created by the users. And according to the iOS security design, there is no way for an iOS app to access the file of another app directly.
It’s possible for your idea to have the “better integration” if store all the user’s data on our server, but this will be another business – expansive much more like to charge by month, not easy to use as need to sync to different files every time when the user update one file.
Best Regards,
Philip (@iosmobilinked),

Replied the use for discussion.
An error occurred while saving the comment AdminPhilip Lee (Supporter, Mobilinked) commentedOf cause, it's better to have more functionalities - we are considering to add some empty columns for the users to use them freely.
But I'd like to emphasize here the percent is not the scope of WBS
About WORK for the comments:
WORK is not TASK, normally a work item may be a delivery, or may be a HIGH LEVEL of WORK, or may be something else.
Even a WORK is HIGH LEVEL of WORK (do we make sure your team members has no concern about it? do we make sure high level tasks can be finalized before bid?), do we really need to report project status via WORK? if we really need, we have the project plan and schedule, then why not to show the status of the plan?
An error occurred while saving the comment AdminPhilip Lee (Supporter, Mobilinked) commentedHello,
WORK is NOT same as TASK, WBS is not PROJECT PLAN. Give an example, in our WBS, we may define a work "security", this work may be related to many tasks later. Works and Tasks may have many to many relationships.
WBS is WBS, other apps may do more than WBS, and some users wants to extend WBS for more work - it make sense, but we can't lost focus.
Actually we may are not asking to extend WBS, we just NEED A PROJECT SCHEDULE APP with an UI which IS SIMILAR as our WBS, more details, some users may found the tree structure is very good and like to use it for schedule. There are some ways to schedule project:
- Schedule in a list (like using Excel)
- Schedule in Gantt chart (like most schedule apps do)
- Schedule in a task tree (we may talk about it)So we may finding an app for project schedule, the user interface may be like Mobilinked WBS, to schedule tasks in a tree diagram.
Mobilinked WBS is for the work breakdown structure, the step in the project manage process is much more earlier than project schedule in the project management process.

NORMALLY!, the process of a project is: … → Breakdown Work (estimation) → SOW (contract) → High level plan → Schedule → executing and report → …
- WBS is for work breaking down, the project team will use it to evaluate the estimate, time and resources needs for contract.
- WBS is NOT to assign resource and plan the efforts
- WBS work is NOT same as project task ( there are many methods to break down work, for example by delivery, a delivery will NOT be same as a task)
- WBS can be a good reference for later planning, but the work in the WBS is not the list of the tasks when planning
That means WBS is not the step to maintain the schedule (the relationship of task, time and resource)but NATURALLY,
- people like the way WBS do to report project status…An error occurred while saving the comment AdminPhilip Lee (Supporter, Mobilinked) commentedHi Christian,
Got your point about the reality, yes, some people like to schedule in a tree structure data.
Same thing, different understanding. To schedule work, there are many methods:
- Schedule in a grid (like using Excel to schedule project), that all the schedule apps do
- Schedule using Gantt chart, that many schedule apps do
- Schedule using network diagram, that some schedule apps do
- Schedule using mindmap
- Schedule in a tree structure data (that some people use WBS to do)Talking about MindMap, many people like use it for WBS, and for Schedule, and for other purpose (in additional to mind map). But MindMap app is majorly for mind map, we can not say that as many people use it for WBS, so MindMap need support the features WBS do. Another words, we can develop a WBS app which UI is similar as MindMap app for WBS needs.
My understanding your point is that some people need a project SCHEDULE app to schedule task (assign resource, schedule date, cost ...) like the way WBS layout works.
Our project plan app supports to open the WBS file as a new project schedule, and as the app for project schedule, the app supports to easily assign resource to tasks. I'd like suggest if you can tree the FREE beta version of QuickPlan for Mac at http://www.quickplan.xyz/

Thanks so much for your idea / comments. Can you please give me a little more context on the idea here, and send over the details about font size suggest, I’d like to know what part font size is smaller for you, and think about the solution. An interface to change font size is a choice, but I do think no need to make the app be that complicated.
Best regards,

I will keep you informed when a new design ready.
BTW: QuickPlan for MAC beta 3 is ready for download at http://quickplan.mobilinked.biz/quickplanosx/, you feedbacks will be very welcome.

Hello,
Thanks for the idea.
WBS is for work break down and estimate. NORMALLY, there are more steps before the PM can assign tasks to the people – such as high level plan → project schedule → actions.
WBS provides a function to export WBS data as a project plan (to Quickplan, our another app).
It will be useful to convert WBS as a todo list (or save to ios calendar), but as this is not common, we need to think about if it’s worth to be added.

An error occurred while saving the comment AdminPhilip Lee (Supporter, Mobilinked) commented- WBS is for work break down and estimate, which is NOT the app for task management.
- The WBS can be imported into QuickPlan as a new project scheduleCombining all apps in one is one choice, it will be very valuable if the data in different apps are really linked. Linking different data is high cost operations for the users, for example, we may have a work item in WBS "purchase page", this work item may be linked with many project tasks, such as "security design", "login", ... - it's possible, but the users will need to spend too much efforts to build the relationship and to maintain the relationship.

We have an article talking about it, would you please check out the article at https://goplan.app/questions/general/wbs ?
